i graduated college in 2000…
since then i feel like i’ve lived more than just one life, one of which was spent in atlanta. oh atlanta, you’ll always have a special place in my heart.
there i found what i needed to move out to the big city. i moved to NY in a uhaul, with just my dog and mom as my copilots. i didn’t think it was weird at all that my mom shouted at a stranger, “where is brooklyn?” i didn’t realize at the time that “brooklyn” is more than just a blip on the map.
eventually i found brooklyn. i found bushwick. i found a way to live in NY on minimum wage. and i found a husband while i was at it.
we got married in texas, at a place that just is a blip on the map, to the best barbecue you ever tasted. that was on november 12, a little over 4 years ago. he proposed on the steps of union square just over 5.
we moved to texas. we moved to new york.
we found park slope.
and that’s where we’ve been ever since. just a guy a girl and a couple of corgis, who are most definitely, probably, more than likely up to no good right now.
one things’ for sure, i never did see spiderman 2.
you were good to me 00’s. here’s to the rest.
